
These are fantastic radios made by Zenith. The pictures above and the model numbers below have one thing in common. They all have tone controls on each side of the dial. If your radio was made in the 40's, they were built using rubber coated wires. After 60 years, this rubber coating is now crumbling and the exposed wires can cause a shock or a fire.
Due to the time involved in changing the wires in the two tone controls and underneath the chassis, these models could be charged an extra 4 hours of labor at $35.00 per hour. One hour for each tone control and two hours for the wires underneath the chassis. Most of the 1940s Zeniths I have worked on need these wires changed. NOT ALL will need this much labor.
These are great radios that will perform and sound great after repair.
